Finished the garnstudio top, now I'll just have to wait for the right weather to wear it. At the moment I'm more inclined towards a warm woollen sweater... I hope I can find a bit of black ribbon for the finishing touch.

This is my current knitting project: a long lacy top in cotton, a free pattern from Drops Design (English pattern link: here). I adjusted the pattern a bit because I rather knit in the round on a circular needle. And I chose black yarn instead of white. I'm almost done: just one more sleeve and the circular yoke and it will be finished.

Selbu patterns from the fifties

A friend lent me a book with norwegian mitten patterns from the fifties. Here are pictures of some of the patterns, aren't they nice? The publisher should make a reprint of this book, I think!

Local scenery

Just returned from an evening walk up and down the nearest mountain. I checked out my favourite picking spots for wild raspberries and blueberries; looks like I'll have to save a lot of empty jam jars. Wild raspberry jam is the best jam there is, I think, especially together with sour cream on waffles...
Yes, and this is where I live. It's not a fjord, though, it's a glacial valley with a very long and deep lake, surrounded by endless forests with lots of wild beasts and lots of carnivorous knitters.

Woof!

I found a new vintage crochet project on Karens Variety today! Poodle slippers. I must have them!

Baby creepers

A little garden impression sketched from behind my computer: homegrown nasturtiums (that have no permission to be out after midnight as there still might be night frost up here in the mountains).
